Oh yes, developers and QA people of this world. Unite! How often have you encountered this?

You’re about to release a new version of your software. Say in 4 weeks. In comes product owner / management and says they NEED this extra thingy for the new version. It’s probably only SMALL, while you know it might lead to bugs or bad customer experience.

If you go Agile… give the development team the mandate to BLOCK these requests. Getting your features out, yes it’s important, but better do it in a stable way. 

One of the ways we used to handle this is implementing stabilization sprints. Full feature freezes, everyone on QA and only bugs should be fixed during that period.
